About This Site
Trump Account Calculator is a free, independent educational tool that helps parents and guardians understand the new Trump Accounts created under Internal Revenue Code §530A (Public Law 119-21). It checks whether a child qualifies for the one-time $1,000 federal pilot deposit and projects how that deposit plus family and employer contributions could grow to age 18 — and, if left invested, to ages 30 and 65. It also offers a simple side-by-side growth comparison with a 529 plan.
This site is not affiliated with the U.S. government, the IRS, the Treasury Department, or the official Trump Accounts program. To open, claim or manage a real account, use the official portal at trumpaccounts.gov.
Who runs it
Ghulam Mustafa — Founder and Editor. Ghulam builds and maintains free online calculators. He researches each tool's rules from primary sources, builds the calculator, and tests its results against hand-computed values before publishing. No financial credentials are claimed — this site explains a public program and does arithmetic; it does not give financial advice.
How the calculator works
The projection uses annual steps. If the child is eligible, the $1,000 pilot deposit is the opening balance. Each year, deposits (family plus employer contributions, held to the combined $5,000 annual limit, with employer contributions also held to their $2,500-per-employee sub-cap) are added at the start of the year, then growth applies: balance = (balance + deposit) × (1 + return). Deposits stop at age 18 — the growth period ends December 31 of the year the child turns 17 — and the extension views to ages 30 and 65 simply keep compounding the balance with no new deposits. All calculations run entirely in your browser.
Accuracy and sources
Every rule stated on this site — the $1,000 pilot window (births January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2028, U.S. citizen at birth, with an SSN, elected on Form 4547), the combined $5,000 annual limit including employer contributions, the $2,500 employer sub-cap per employee, the index-fund investment restriction with fees capped at 0.1%, the growth-period end date, and the traditional-IRA tax treatment after 18 — is taken from IRS and Treasury sources, including IRS Form 4547 instructions, the IRS Trump Accounts pages, Treasury releases, and the text of Public Law 119-21 on congress.gov. Rules verified against IRS and Treasury sources — last updated October 23, 2026. If guidance changes, we update the site and this date.
